April 2015 Board of Directors Meeting

Windsor Manor, Wednesday Evening, Apr. 8 -- Loren Heckathorne

The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors meeting, Apr 8, 2015, in the Windsor Manor dining room. President Bob Hunter called the meeting to order at 8:10 pm and acted as Chairman, with the following members present:

Secretary Loren Heckathorne read Minutes from the Mar 25 Board Meeting. Motion was made by Charlene Jarboe, Second by Willy Morfitt to approve the Minutes. Motion passed.

Treasurer John Beals left the Financial Report before he had to leave. Susan Radke moved to accept the financial reports, Second by Charlene Jarboe. Motion passed.

Susan Radke read the slate of officers for next year. President: Jayson Kingsbury; 1st Vice President: Susan Radke; Secretary: Loren Heckathorne; Treasurer: John Beals; Lion Tamer: LaNair Niblock; Tail Twisters: Steve Jordening and Jim Fenn; Membership: Charlene Jarboe; Publicity Willy Morfitt; Web Master: Jerry Radke. It was noted that there are no Directors and no 2nd and 3rd Vice Presidents.

There was talk about asking our new members to consider a service position, but it was noted that none were present at this time.

Charlene reported that there will be officer training at the Zone Meeting in Marshalltown on Apr 11 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. It will be held at the Salvation Army Building and the address is 207 W State St.

Jerry reported on the District Convention. He met the International Director Yves Leveille and attended the Kids Sight workshop. Charlene Jarboe also attended the District Convention. She noted that there was a Bylaws change.

Our next Pancake Fundraiser will be on September 13. Willy will check with Kiwanis to prevent potential conflicts.

President Hunter reported that a load of paper went out yesterday. Willy reported that he picked up 112 pairs of glasses. There were 3 recent requests for vision assistance, that were paid this last month, but only one is new. Two of them were for $200 and the last one was for $155.

Giving Paul his 15 year pin was scheduled for the Apr 22 Lions meeting.

President Hunter adjourned the meeting at 8:30.
