Windsor Manor, Wednesday Evening, January 11 -- Loren Heckathorne
We did business at the regular meeting before the Board meeting. Barb Mittman was in attendance and presented information about our upcoming Food at First event. The Lions should serve pancakes, eggs, sausage and fruit. Start the preparation at 3:30 pm and we need 3 Lions for this. We will need larger crews to serve and clean-up. She noted that some food items were obtained from Free Market while sausage and eggs were from Target. We should plan on serving from 40 to 60 persons and start serving at 5:30 pm.
It was noted that we are nearly out of coffee cups and the Secretary should order more.
Next we had the Induction of Sandy Richardson. Susan performed the Induction and Bob was Sandy's Sponsor.
Jerry Radke presented a Mid-winter report. He attended 3 seminars on Saturday, Jan 7. The first seminar was on social media, the second was a PDG seminar, and the last was on membership. The speaker was from Minnesota.
Present Fenn thanked the members for their help with Breakfast with Santa.
The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors meeting, Jan 11, 2017, in the Windsor Manor dining room. President Jim Fenn called the meeting to order at 8:20 pm and acted as Chairman, with the following members present:
John Beals Jim Fenn Loren Heckathorne Bob Hunter Paul Malsom Willy Morfitt Jerry Radke Susan Radke Mike Seaboch
Secretary Heckathorne read the minutes from the Nov 9 Board meeting. John Beals made a motion to approve the Minutes as read, Second by Jerry Radke. Motion passed.
John Beals presented 3 Treasurer's Reports. The first was the December financial statement, the second was the January financial statement and the last was the Pancakes report. It was noted that we spent too much money for the Christmas Program. In particular, the meal expense was way too high. Willy Morfitt made a motion to approve the financial reports, Second by Mike Seaboch. Motion passed.
For Bills of Account, there was a bill from Jerry Radke for $27 for attending the Mid-Winter and a $25.75 pre-approved bill for stamps and envelopes as part of the membership campaign. Willy Morfitt made a motion to approve the bill for Mid-winter, Second by John Beals. Motion passed.
There was some discussion about the Breakfast with Santa Pancake event. Was the 50/50 really worth the effort? It was noted that we need more tables. Thank you, Susan, for the display.
Jerry has the program for the Lions meeting where we plan to have our prospective members, which is 2 weeks from now. There may be 3 prospective members that night. We want just a regular Lions program, that night, not a Lions orientation program. Elijah will follow-up and contact the prospective members.
For New Business we talked about a Valentines event. We don't want a special event for Valentines -- only a regular Lions meeting at Windsor Manor.
President Fenn adjourned this meeting at 9:05.
Loren Heckathorne, Secretary
