July 2015 Board of Directors Meeting

Windsor Manor, Wednesday Evening, July 8 -- Loren Heckathorne

During our regular meeting, Charlotte Miller, the LCIF coordinator, installed the officers for next year.

The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors meeting, July 8, 2015, in the Windsor Manor dining room. President Charlene Jarboe called the meeting to order at 8:07 pm and acted as Chairman, with the following members present:

John Beals Jim Fenn Loren Heckathorne
Bob Hunter Charlene Jarboe Willy Morfitt
Jerry Radke

The advertisement in the Guide to Nevada was brought up from last month. The cost this year is $275. Willy Morfitt made a motion to approve it, Second by Bob Hunter. Motion passed.

We decided not to apply for a grant, sponsored by Memorial Lutheran Church.`

The Iowa Cubs baseball game was brought up again. There was no action on this (only information), as Lions members who wish to attend should purchase tickets on their own.

Willy Morfitt and Bob Hunter reported on the 4th of July Parade. John Wheelock drove. Paul wore the Lions suit and Bob assisted him. Loren and Willy tossed out candy. Unfortunately, no one took any pictures.

Our club schedule booklet is not quite ready yet. Bob Hunter volunteered to get a program for the August 12 meeting. Our annual picnic is July 22 at Hattery Park. Charlene will contact the city for this.

President Jarboe brought up the Sweet Corn and Bologna Feed, which is July 13. The exchange students will eat from 4:00 to 5:00 pm; therefore, Charlene, Willy and Loren need to be at Camp Hantesa by 3:30 pm.

Secretary Loren Heckathorne read Minutes from the June 10 Board Meeting. Motion was made by Bob Hunter, Second by Jerry Radke to approve the Minutes. Motion passed.

Treasurer John Beals presented the monthly Financial Report. Jim Fenn moved to accept the financial reports, Second by Bob Hunter. Motion passed. Then, John presented the yearly report. Willy Morfitt moved to accept the yearly report, Second by Bob Hunter. Motion passed.

The following bills were presented: Parade Candy $61.93 to Jim Fenn, Postage $9.80 to Loren Heckathorne, Grill clean-up and painting $66.30 to Jim Fenn. Bob Hunter moved to pay the bills, Second by Jerry Radke. Motion passed.

Treasurer Beals noted that Jayson Kingsbury was behind on his dues and meals payments. Everyone agreed that it was important to keep Jayson as a member. Bob Hunter volunteered to go to Country Landscaping and visit with Jayson.

Jim Fenn brought up the topic of our Float banner being rather faded. He will look into getting a new one and pricing one that will last longer. Also, Jim passed out new grill rental instructions as guidelines for use, cleaning and storage for those renting our grills.

We adjourned at 8:38.
