The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors meeting, May 13, 2015, in the Windsor Manor dining room. President Bob Hunter called the meeting to order at 7:50 pm and acted as Chairman, with the following members present:
John Beals Jim Fenn Loren Heckathorne Barb Howard Larry Howard Bob Hunter Charlene Jarboe Charlie Lloyd Paul Malsom Willy Morfitt Jerry Radke Susan Radke
Secretary Loren Heckathorne read Minutes from the Apr 8 Board Meeting. Motion was made by John Beals, Second by Jerry Radke to approve the Minutes. Motion passed.
Treasurer John Beals presented the Financial Report. Jerry Radke moved to accept the financial reports, Second by Willy Morfitt. Motion passed.
Two bills were presented: Jerry and Charlene attended the District Convention, $35 each.
It was noted that the president represents the club and gives out the scholarships in May. We have two scholarships for $1000 each. Charlene Jarboe and Charlie Lloyd are working to select the list of 3 names for each scholarship, but the school actually selects the recipient from the list. It was later in our Board meeting that Charlie volunteered to present the scholarships.
We will install new officers at the June 10th meeting for the 2015-2016 Lions year.
Jerry received a call from Virgil Lundy, Youth Exchange Coordinator, suggesting July 13 as the date for our Sweet Corn and Bologna Feed. Charlene Jarboe should call Virgil and confirm this date.
There was a letter from Live United soliciting money for a video, which we declined.
Jim Fenn reported on the Cub Scouts barrowing our grills. They received our 2nd grill. It was noticed that there are paint chips coming off the grill. We will sand blast and re-paint.
The final selection of next year's officers was read. Charlene Jarboe, President; Susan Radke, 1st Vice President and Membership Chair; Jerry Radke, 2nd Vice President; LaNair Niblock, Lion Tamer; John Beals, Treasurer; Loren Heckathorne, Secretary; Barb and Larry Howard; Directors; Jim Fenn and Steve Jordening, Tail Twisters.
Barb Howard suggested that we do a crocket fundraiser for Lincoln Highway Days. There would be prizes for the winners of each game and at the end of the day we could have a tournament of champions with a grand prize.
A motion was made to adjourn by John Beals, Second by Charlie Lloyd. Meeting adjourned at 8:30.
Loren Heckathorne, Secretary
