August 2019 Board of Directors Meeting

Windsor Manor, Wednesday Evening, August 14, 2019 -- Loren Heckathorne

The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors meeting, Aug 14, 2019, in the Windsor Manor dining room. President Paul Malsom called the meeting to order at 8:05 pm and acted as Chairperson, with the following members present:

Secretary Heckathorne read the Minutes from the June Board meeting. Susan Radke motioned to approve the Minutes, 2nd by Charlene Jarboe. Motion Passed.

Paul Malsom presented John's Treasurer's report. Bob Hunter made a motion to accept the Treasurer's report, 2nd by Jerry Radke. Motion passed.

For Bills of Account, there were bills for June and July meals; no amounts were stated. Charlene didn't have the Youth Exchange expenses with her.

For old business, we discussed Peach Sales. The peaches are coming Aug 25. We should call and let customers know, but not until peaches arrive.

Main Street Nevada was discussed and then tabled. Jerry made the motion to table, 2nd by Jim.

Next we discussed moving our meals and meetings to the Country Club. Our supplies can be stored at the County club. It was noted that someone would need to take Marilyn out there and back. Bob will get more information. Motion to table until September, by Bob Hunter, 2nd by Charlene.

We are still looking for a Publicity Chair -- Willy is doing it for now.

We discussed ISU Dining fund raiser. ISU wants our club to do 2 weeks for noon meal.

LHD is Sat Aug 24 #d#e Paul wants 6 people plus Lion on the Float. Those that said they could be there were: Loren, Jerry, Carlene, Bob, Willy, and possibly John and Sandy. Need to get candy -- but don't get chocolate candy bars and don't get tootsie rolls. We will meet at 10:00 am at the former Donnelley parking lot. Jim will register our float with LHD committee.

Board meetings should be no longer than 1 hour.

A tour is planned next meeting, August 28th. Eat at Windsor then tour at Paragon.

Projector and screen -- We no longer have Kiwanis' screen to borrow. It was noted that there is a screen at the Country club. This item is postponed until next board meeting.

Charlene made a motion to do the Guide to Nevada again this year for $300, 2nd by Jim. Motion passed. The guide is sent to everyone in Nevada.

Legos for the blind to teach braille to the blind was mentioned.

We adjourned at 8:50 pm.
