District 9x7 Leo Chair Tom Wilson of the Badger Lions Club also attended.

Secretary Jerry Radke read the minutes of the 3 November 2003 board meeting. Lion Jean moved to accept the minutes, seconded by Lion Charles, and passed. Treasurer Dean Howell reported a checking account balance of $12,706.95. Secretary Jerry Radke presented the following bills: 1) Ben Franklin for Sight Night candy and supplies = $43.23, 2) LaNair Niblock for Spouse and Special Guest Night decorations = $73.80, and 3) Lions Clubs International for Willy Morfitt's transfer = $14.13. Lion Charles moved to pay the bills, seconded by Lion Steve, and passed.

Lion President Paul passed around a Thank You note with a $25 check from Doris Andresen for Special Guest Night. He also reminded everyone that our meeting 10 December 2003 will be a Christmas celebration and members are to bring a gag or white elephant gift worth $3 or less and labeled for male or female.

The Tail Twisters reported that Spouse and Special Guest Night was enjoyed by all. Many complementary comments were received. We still have several cases of large coloring books and need places to sell them before Christmas. Board members are to bring ideas for Margaret Maliet's $10,000 estate gift to our January board meeting.

Discussion of a Branch Club was tabled since Lion Jim Perkins was not in attendance. We have a Warren Coleman award coming for our past donations to the Iowa Lions Foundation. Lion President Paul would like nominations for a person to receive the award.

Lion Secretary Jerry read a list of donations we have made in past years: 1) Four Christmas Baskets - $200, 2) Lion Clubs International Foundation - $50, 3) Leader Dog - $100, 4) Diabetes Awareness - $200, and 5) Iowa Lions Foundation - $350. Lion Duane moved to give to the five as in the past, seconded by Lion Steve and passed. Lion Dick moved to give a gift of $25 to Marilyn Argotsinger for playing the piano, seconded by Lion Steve and passed. Lion President Paul passed around a request from Lion Bill Tjaden for a $10 donation to the International Youth Exchange - Outbound. Lion Jean is interested in being Vice District Governor next year. Lion Charles moved that our club endorse Jean Bodensteiner for Vice District Governor, seconded by Lion Steve, and passed.

Lion President Paul introduced Lion Tom Wilson who spoke about the requirements and procedure for starting a LEO Club in Nevada. LEO stands for Leadership, Experience, and Opportunity. There are 140,000 LEO club members worldwide. A LEO Club would benefit local youth, our Lions Club, and the community. Lion Charles and his wife, Chris, are working to sign up interested high school students. We will try for an organizational meeting in January.

Our next board meeting will be 5 January 2004 in the Chamber of Commerce office hosted by Lion Jean. Lion Dean moved to adjourn, seconded by Lion Jean, and we adjourned at 8:20 pm.
