December 2008 Board of Directors Meeting

Lion Line

The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors Meeting December 1, 2008 at the home of Charlene Jarboe. The meeting was called to order by President Jerry Radke who acted as Chairman with the following members present:

Motion to approve the minutes as read was made by John Beals, seconded by Dick Couser. Motion approved.

The Treasurer's Report was presented by Loren Heckathorne. Motion to approve the Treasurer's Report made by Charlene Jarboe, seconded by Jim Fenn. Motion approved.

Income from taking tickets at ISU football games was $1848.45.

The Paper Recycling Project truck is being loaded better than the first one. The Kiwanis Club indicated an interest to share the project. The consensus was not to do so.

Paul Malsom reported plans for Pancake Supper on schedule. The membership committee will have brochures on display.

Motion to give Marilyn Argotsinger $50 for playing the piano made by Paul Malsom, seconded by Willie Morfitt. Motion approved.

Motion to approve the following donations made by Jim Fenn, seconded by Paul Malsom: LCIF, $50.; Iowa Lions Foundation, 350.; Diabetes Awareness, 100.; Leader Dog, 100.; Puppy Program, 100. Motion approved.

A motion to invite the members of the ISU Lions Club to our Christmas Party as our guests was made by John Beals, seconded by Janice Schmidt. Motion approved.

Motion to give the Community Cupboard $500 and 1,000 to the Senior Center made by Jim Fenn. Lost for lack of a second.

Motion to give $500 to the Community Cupboard by Jim Fenn, seconded by John Beals. Motion approved.

Don Williams discussed the heliport for the new hospital. The possibility of giving $6,000 for lighting was discussed. No action taken.

Motion to adjourn by Bob Hunter, seconded by Janice Schmidt.

Meeting adjourned at 8:35 pm.
