May 2004 Board of Directors Meeting

Lion Line

The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board Meeting at the Nevada Public Library Community Room on 3 May 2004. The meeting was called to order at 7 pm by President Paul Malsom who acted as chairman. The following members were in attendance:

Secretary Jerry Radke read the minutes of the 5 April 2004 board meeting. Lion Jean moved to accept the minutes, seconded by Lion Dean, and passed. Treasurer Dean Howell reported a checking account balance of $12,746.33. Secretary Jerry Radke reported that he had no bills to present.

Lion Loren reported that we are still missing a Third Vice President for the 2004-2005 Officers who were elected at our last meeting. Lion Jean reported that we are set to help serve breakfasts at ISU on 21 and 22 May 2004 at Maple-Willow-Larch dorms from 6 to 9 am. We will earn about $260 for the Administrative Fund. Jean is looking for workers for the National Order of the Arrow Conference from 31 July through 5 August 2004. We could earn $787 for serving breakfasts, $540 for lunches, and $900 for dinners.

Lion President Paul Malsom will present our two scholarships at the Nevada High School graduation. Lion President Paul is still waiting to receive a project list from Parks and Recreation for the $10,000 from Margaret Maliet's estate. He also reported that club members did not properly welcome Lion LaNair Niblock's guest at our last regular meeting. Lion Jean reported that waivers for females and couples will not be extended into next year.

Several items of new business were discussed by not acted on for lack of a quorum. Discussed were the Retention Campaign information from Lions International, Jessica Young's interest in Youth Exchange Outbound, gifts besides mugs for program presenters, the Patriotic Council, guest Lions day at Camp Hertko Hollow, and the Hugh O-Brien Conference.

Our next meeting will be at the Charles Lloyd home on 7 June 2004. Lion Dean moved to adjourn, seconded by Lion Dwight and we adjourned at 8:08 pm.
