Nevada Lions met in person on May 12 at Indian Creek Country Club.
No meal was provided. Members ordered off the menu.
Meeting was called to order by President Jarboe. I noted 7:49 as the starting time. It was so noisy in there that I could hardly hear.
Those in attendance: John Beals, Paul Malsom, Charlie Lloyd, Steve Jordening, Jerry Radke, Susan Radke, Charlene Jarboe, Carlene Hunter, Bob Hunter, Jim Fenn, Willy Morfitt, Mike Seaboch, Loren Heckathorne.
Motion made by Charlie to get 2 signs for paper recycling banners from First Class Signs; Willy 2nd. Passed.
Willy talked about request for eyeglasses from guy in Story County jail. He is out of jail now and gone (back to Ankeny, perhaps). At Willy suggestion, we took no action on this.
I gave business meeting starting at 7:49, but in may not have been a Board meeting.
Sandy was contacted about her resignations and she said "time to leave." Her resignation was accepted, with regrets.
A motion about our picnic was made by Bob and Charlie was the Second. We will have a picnic and will invite scholarship winners, with July 28 selected as the date, but the location will be determined later.
Peaches - much discussion - and things handed out.
Peach crop has small/some damage - they did raise the price, but only a little - 50 cents per flat and 1 dollar per box.

Carlene passed out past sales sheet to each Lion. And, she provided directions for sale. June 30 deadline and there may be a peach shortage.
Start selling right away. No ad in Journal paper - but we may put ad in the Sun (free paper)
Turn sales sheets into Carlene - get money before turn them in. Could trust them to pay later, but you might need to pay.

John handed me a financial report, but it wasn't reported at the meeting.
May 26, 2021 at Indian Creek Country Club
Charlene wasn't there, so Charlie led the business meeting. Attendance: Jerry Radke, Susan Radke, John Beals, Charlie Lloyd, Bob Hunter, Carlene Hunter, Jim Fenn, Loren Heckathorne.
Scholarships -- Charlene will attend and present/announce our scholarships winners. I should contact Lori Arends at the Guidance office to get their contact info.
Picnic -- Get chicken from Good and Quick, but just the chicken. We will pass around a sign-up for sides and desserts at the June meeting. The Picnic will be at the Kiwanis park south of the Lutheran church. The date is still the 4th Wednesday in July. July 28.
We will only have 1 meeting per month for this summer. The meetings for June, July and August will be held the 4th Wednesday of each month.
First Class Signs -- print two paper recycling signs, front and back of the same sign.
Advertising in the paper for Peach Sales. Run a 2 x 5 color Ad - One day in the Ames Tribune, Wednesday Story County Sun and Boone News Republican, Thursday Nevada Journal, Tri-County Times, Boone Shopping News and Story City Herald.
