There were several reports at the regular meeting. First, Bob Hunter reported that we are waiting on Mason City recycling, so we can't put any more paper in the truck.
Willy Morfitt reported that we provided 6 eyeglasses in last month. This makes 24 eyeglasses since Willy started doing this. Note that 5 of those 6 new eyeglasses have been already paid.
Sandy reported on the planning of our Christmas meal at the county club at 6:30. It will be a buffet. The school choir will provide music. The cost is $19.99 plus 20% gratuity; more for cookies and coffee. I gave Sandy the widows list and she will invite them to our Christmas meal.
The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors meeting, Nov 14, 2018, in the Windsor Manor dining room. President Susan Radke called the meeting to order at 7:27 pm and acted as Chairperson, with the following members present:
John Beals Jim Fenn Loren Heckathorne Bob Hunter Carlene Hunter Jim George Charlene Jarboe Chnarlie Lloyd Jerry Radke Susan Radke Sandy Richardson Willy Morfitt We immediately launched into a planning session for our upcoming Pancake fundraiser. This will be on Saturday December 8. Flyer is at Parks and Rec. Setup on Friday 3-5, but we must not create overtime for the janitor. We have leftovers supplies from RAGBRAI. We need eggs, juice and milk, but we have pancake mix, syrup and butter. We need to get sausage and John will get sausage, with 4 boxes donated and 4 boxes purchased. Willy will do a 50/50 raffle again. Bob Hunter is doing posters. Jim Fenn will handle the grills, with help from Paul. We will use both grills. Terence will get L.P. gas. Paul will bring a blender and crock-pot.
Secretary Heckathorne read the minutes from the October 10 Board meeting. There were two grammatical corrects. John Beals made a motion to approve the Minutes as corrected, Second by Charlie Lloyd. Motion passed.
Treasurer John Beals presented the financial report. His report was accepted as presented with no motion.
Bills of account: Repair of ramp at recycle trailer for 44.79. Sandy Richardson made a motion to pay the bill, Second by Charlie Lloyd. Motion passed.
Charlene made a Halloween report. There were 700 kids and Paul wore the Lions suit. There was some candy leftover.
Susan is working on a brochure for our Lions Club. This brochure has information about our major fundraisers. It was noted that the Peach Sales fundraiser needs a chair person.
Our Lions club needs new song books. The Secretary was asked to check into this.
