November 13 Meeting

Lion Line

The Nevada Lions Club met at Indian Creek Country Club on Nov 10, 2021, with the following persons in attendance:

John Beals Jim Fenn Loren Heckathorne
Bob Hunter Carlene lHunter Charlie Lloyd
Charlene Jarboe Steve Jordening Paul Malsom
Jerry Radke Mike Seaboch

We did some Lions business before the Board meeting.

Paper recycling trailer went out. It was there for nine months. Estimate $735. It took so long because of less paper coming in. There is less newspaper and in particular there is less Nevada Journal.

We are still trying to organize a January or February breakfast. The kitchen charge at Gates is $60.00 per hour, with free auditorium and no mention of custodian charges. We need to pick a date after looking at what else is happening in Nevada. We are thinking Saturday instead of Sunday. Saturdays in February are: 5, 12, 19, 26 -- later the better for Covid. It will probably be 19th or 26th.

Halloween report: expected 800 (that is, candy for 800) but only had 500 kids. There is leftover candy.

The Board meeting started at 7:41 pm. Secretary Heckathorne read the previous Minutes. Bob made a motion to approve, Second by Charlene. Motion passed.

John Beals presented the Financial Report: John mention that we received $70 from Palisades. We also did Bills of Account, which included: LHD $17.46; Halloween $74.62. Steve made a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report and Bills of Account together as one motion; Second made by Jim. Motion passed.

The Lions Suit is missing. Susan used it last. Should we get another one for $1400? First, check around to find it. The Secretary should look in old Minutes to see if there is any mention of our Lions costume being borrowed. This borrowing could be about 1 year ago.

Christmas Party -- Secretary should find the Widows list so they can be invited. The Jazz Choir from school is invited to perform. The meal should cost $15 -- or better $20 to get a great meal from ICCC. It will be held Dec 8 at 6:30. We probably want candy and decorations -- maybe poinsettias too?`

We need to get Christmas gift baskets for $1000. Jim made a motion to give 20 $50 gift cards; Second by Steve. Motion passed.

It was noted that several Lions owe dues for 1 year or more. They will be contacted.

Loren Heckathorne, Secretary
