The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors Meeting October 6, 2008 at the home of Tom Haller. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Jerry Radke who acted as Chairman with the following members present:

Motion to approve the minutes of September 8, 2008 as read made by Bob Hunter, seconded by Jim Fenn. Motion approved.
The Treasurer's Report was presented by Loren Heckathorne. Motion to approve Treasurer's Report made by John Beals, seconded by Charlie Lloyd. Motion approved.
A motion to put the Project Balance of $823.42 into the checking account was made by Loren Heckathorne, seconded by Charlie Lloyd. Motion approved.
Bills presented: Central Printing, $73.72 for Banner; 67.54 for Brochures; Iowa Lions, 69.40 for President Plaque. Motion to approve payment of bills by Willie Morfitt, seconded by Charlie Lloyd. Motion approved.
Jerry Radke reported that the names for KidSight training have been sent to the District Governor.
Jerry Radke and Bob Hunter reported on their attendance of Puppy Days at the North Central Iowa Correction Facility at Rockwell City. It was an interesting and educational program and they saw the puppy sponsored by Nevada Lions and the Nevada Kindergarten Classes.
Dick Couser reported that the new brochures have been placed in the Chamber of Commerce office.
The Club will receive $527.50 for the first load of recycled paper.
A thank you note was received from the hearing aid recipient.
Sight Night will be October 31. There will be at least one puppy for display.
The Pancake Supper will be December 12.
A motion to postpone the request from MICA for the dental clinic by Charlie Lloyd was lost for lack of a second.
Motion to table the MICA request was made by John Beals, seconded by Charlie Lloyd. Motion approved.
Motion to adjourn by Bob Hunter, seconded by Charlie Lloyd. Meeting adjourned at 8:17 pm.
