Windsor Manor, Wednesday Evening, September 11, 2019 -- Loren Heckathorne
The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors meeting, Sep 11, 2019, in the Windsor Manor dining room. President Paul Malsom called the meeting to order at 8:12 pm and acted as Chairperson, with the following members present:
John Beals Jim Fenn Loren Heckathorne Charlen Jarboe Bob Hunter Carlene Hunter Paul Malsom Will Morfitt Jerry Radke Susan Radke Secretary Heckathorne read the Minutes from the August Board meeting. Jim Fenn motioned to approve the Minutes, 2nd by Charlene Jarboe. Motion Passed.
John Beals presented the Treasurer's report. Loren Heckathorne made a motion to accept the Treasurer's report, 2nd by Bob Hunter. Motion passed.
For Bills of Account, there was a Windsor bill for August meals for $162, Youth Exchange Feed for Charlene of $20.93, $20 for LHD registration and $52.02 for candy.
John presented a Peach Sales report, which isn't final: $5388 in income, plus $39 (2 flats + $1), plus $30 (1 box), with expenses of $4925.75. John also presented a yearend report.
Next, we discussed venue change. We can store supplies and equipment and we can use a wall for a screen. They will pick the meal. Susan moved to change venue to Country Club, 2nd by Jim. Charlene had amendment to tell Country Club to pick the meal from a $9.00 menu. We will bill our members $10 per meal. Jerry seconded this. The amendment and the motion passed. Paul will let Windsor know. It was noted that there is a projector out at the Country Club. Rotary owns the keyboard? Our podium is too large -- leave it at Steve's.
New business. There was a letter from LCIF for Dorian survivors. Susan moved to donate $100, 2nd Charlene. Motion passed.
Type 2 Diabetes screening could be a project for us. It is coordinated with local health care providers. This is 1 time project. This could be for low income people. John moved to table it for now, 2nd by Jim. Motion passed.
Dr Dugger is working with Wings of Refuge (Sexual Trafficked Victims). We may want to partner with one or more Ames clubs. Bev Shipley is coming on Sept 25 to explain Wings of Refuge.
Story County Fair -- Motion by Jim, 2nd by Willy to give $500 to the Story County Fair Board for facilities improvements.
